Welcome to the BAMS Library

The purpose of the Bangor Area Middle School Library is to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are effective users of ideas, information, and technology and to encourage a lifelong appreciation of reading for pleasure. The library supports the curriculum and encourages the use of all materials located in the library.

The BAMS Library provides accurate and current information in a wide variety of formats: print, audiovisual, and electronic. Traditional print sources include books and periodicals, while audiovisual sources include videos, audiobooks, and CDs. Electronic sources include the online catalog, a selection of ebooks, and databases to support the curriculum.

Below are the subscription databases for the middle school. Click HERE for instructions on how to access them from home.

Wait, but what even are these databases? Figured you'd ask!

  • Country Reports is a good source for basic information on countries.
  • WorldBook is a good start for all of your research - any level reader can get good info, but don’t stop there!
  • Power Library is THE source for research, news, and ebooks.  It is a must use for middle school students to get good information and prepare for high school.
