Dear Slater Families,

Welcome to Bangor Area Middle School. As Principal, I am proud to lead a school community dedicated to the growth, achievement, and well-being of every student who walks through our doors. Our students have the opportunity to experience a multitude of successes in the classroom, on the playing field, and on the stage.

Our goal at BAMS is to create an active, engaging learning environment where every student develops a love for learning and the tools to become a lifelong learner. I am honored to work with a staff that is dedicated to creating learning environments where students are encouraged to learn and grow. BAMS teachers are devoted to their professional growth and development.

Your involvement as a parent is an essential part of your child’s middle school experience and contributes to the overall school culture at BAMS. The staff and I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the year, as collaboration among students, teachers, and parents is an essential key to the true success of a school community. Throughout the year we will keep students and parents informed, and parents are encouraged to remain actively involved through activities like PTSO and volunteering.
