Mrs. Dente

I am excited to be working with the students, staff, and families of Bangor Middle School this year as the Assistant Principal.  I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Reading from East Stroudsburg University.  I recently obtained my K-12 Principal Certification from Lehigh University.

I have worked in the district for 20 years as a Special Education teacher and Reading Specialist at both DeFranco Elementary and Five Points Elementary Schools.  I have had the opportunity to work with schools all over the country in the summer months as an educational consultant providing professional development to staff and facilitating teen leadership institutes.  My mission is to create a ripple effect of positivity and leadership among students so that they can reach their greatest potential.

Communication and collaboration between all stakeholders is essential to the growth of all students.  I believe that we have a school community that is built around creating opportunities for students to find their strengths and lead their own learning.  Our staff works hard to continue their professional growth so that they can best support our students in an ever-changing world.  I am currently continuing my own professional growth at Lehigh University in the Doctoral Program for Educational Leadership.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy watching my teenage son run Cross Country and Track and my teenage daughter play softball and compete in gymnastics.  I love spending time with my husband, children, and two dogs relaxing in our backyard, running, kayaking, and shopping.

I look forward to an amazing school year!  GO SLATERS!
